Are you wondering what would this article be about? Good to know we at Family Tree UAE got you intrigued. What we mean when we say, ‘how to be yourself when your pregnant?’, is every to be new mom at some point experiences the pressure or need to do few things while they are pregnant. While there is no rule book written on this, there will be several people sending you messages on ‘what you should be doing’, ‘what books you should be reading’, ‘which diet is good for you and the baby’ and many more such suggestions will start flowing your way.
Most to be moms come under the pressure of following these ridiculous things in the pretext of being a good mother to your unborn. While since ages mothers have been doing a few things like reading books to their unborn or maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy, none of this is mandatory. One need not add more stress to the already stressful yet joyous phase with these unwanted mandates that mothers are made compelled to follow only to have your babies brain cells develop a certain way.
What mothers need to be doing is put their feet up, relax and enjoy this phase. So here is a list of things that you as a to be mother need not feel compelled to take up:
1. Sing or talk to your bellies: Most women want to do this and hence they do it happily, but there are some women who don’t find this idea of singing and talking to your unborn appealing. If you belong to the latter category, just don’t bother with fitting within the norm. It is ok, if you don’t sing and dance to your unborn. There will be enough singing, talking and dancing to be done once your little one is born.
2. 9 plus months of eating healthy: Yes, it is important to eat healthy during this time but not all the time! We hear you and advice you to relax, we know you wish well for your child more than anyone else. Occasionally if you feel like eating that burger or cake, go for it without beating yourself up or feeling guilty about it. If you’re eating healthy 85% of the time, then there is no harm in indulging occasionally. Unless otherwise advised by your doctor.
3. Pre – natal yoga classes: We know it is an ‘IT’ thing to do when your pregnant. No doubt doing pre-natal yoga comes with its own benefits. But honestly if you feel not up to it, don’t go for it. Your baby will still be born healthy.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the pregnancy the way it is meant to be. As for all the advices, like we said in the beginning there is no rule book written on this. Do it your way and do what makes you happy.
